Set high above the red cliffs of Sidmouth on the Jurassic Coast, this penthouse presented what felt like a dream brief: to create an elegant coastal home with unmistakable five-star luxury.

Tucked into the eaves, the apartment offered the perfect opportunity to introduce a cathedral-like sense of volume. We enhanced this architectural drama with striking oak panelling to the ceiling of the sitting and dining area, celebrating both height and craftsmanship. The entrance hallway and internal corridor were widened to create a more generous arrival experience, and a much-needed second shower room was seamlessly integrated into the plan.

A relaxed yet refined coastal aesthetic flows throughout, with oversized bespoke doors and tailored cladding adding rhythm and texture. In the dining area, a one-metre-wide pendant anchors the space — a subtle but powerful gesture that speaks to the generous proportions and quiet confidence of the design.
